June 24 2023, Belize City. On Saturday 24 June 2023, the Pastoral Life Commission held graduation ceremonies at La Inmaculada Church in Orange Walk Town for 16 Lay Ministers. The participants completed the Basic Level Religious Education Training offered by the Diocese of Belize City and Belmopan with the support of the Catholic Schools management.
The training was comprised of four mini courses namely, Sacramental Theology, Scripture, Christian Leadership and Vatican II which were designed to enhance their knowledge of the teachings of the church and their spiritual development.
Present were Abel Vargas-Chair of the Diocesan Pastoral Life Commission , John Bodden-Chair of the Lay Ministers Resource Team, Religious Education coordinators Isabel Castillo and Beatrice Robateau and Facilitators Sergio Cal and Sr. Consuelo. Pedro Lozano one of the graduates gave a reflection on the training experiences.
A reception followed, hosted by the Lozanos.
