Seminarian’s retreat 2022

By Father Jordan Gongora, Seminary Administrator

As part of their spiritual discernment, seminarians who are in formation to the priesthood, are required to take a spiritual retreat. This year, our diocesan seminarians from St. Benedict Diocesan seminary, lived a 5-day retreat held at Nazareth Retreat Centre in Forest Home, Toledo.

The retreat began on the evening of Monday January 24 and ended on Friday January 28, 2022. The retreat director was Father Andres Vall-Serra of the Society of Jesus. Father Andres is stationed in Belize city and was gracious in accepting the invitation to guide the seminarians in their spiritual retreat.

Four diocesan seminarians took time off from school and seminary routine to spend much time in prayer and reflection during the retreat. The retreat days included Morning and Evening prayers, Holy Mass, daily talks, silent meditation and ended every night with Eucharistic adoration, Night prayer and benediction. Father Jordan Gongora and Father Vicente Salam, MOP, seminary formators, where also present during the retreat days.

Their prayerful support was evident during the spiritual retreat.

Our diocesan seminarians are well in formation and require much of our prayerful and generous support. Two seminarians are in their final semester of studies and will soon advance to major seminary formation. The third seminarian is in his second semester of seminary studies. A new seminarian joined the seminary this year and began seminary studies.

Please support the diocesan seminary by your prayers and generous donations. To make a donation please contact the Roman Catholic Chancery office at (501) 223-6919.
