February 22, 2023, Belize City, Belize. Do you always have that nagging feeling that you’d like to start growing your faith but somehow always shrugging it off for another time? Well, You can start that journey sooner than you think. The Diocese of Belize launched its new podcast, bzdiocese on Ash Wednesday, the time of new commitment to our faith.
The Belize Diocesan Podcasts Project is an initiative of the newly formed Pastoral Diocesan Resource Team that began in 2021 and will fulfill the vision of the diocese that the Good News will reach every corner of our nation and that each person will grow in wisdom and humility and will walk humbly before God.
Our mission is simple: Evangelization through Communication. Our goal is to bring you the latest news of what’s happening around our diocese in Belize. You will also hear insights and in-depth discussions from special guests (including, laity, clergy and the religious) on topics of faith, church history and the teachings of the church. We hope to educate and enlighten you the faithful, so that you may continue to grow in wisdom and walk humbly before God.
In July 2022, the diocese received audio and video communication equipment purchased through the assistance of the Diocese of Belize, the ACN and SIGNIS Rome
Prior to receiving the equipment, a group of ten persons were trained in Podcasting in March 2022 by the team at SIGNIS Services Rome.
The podcast is scheduled to be aired once a month until June when it will increase to twice a month. It will be streamed via our websites at Homepage – catholic.bz and https://bit.ly/41Gudby or you can download to your favorite listening device from https://bit.ly/3YQvHy1. Of course, you can also follow us on Facebook at https://bit.ly/3ZmXd5Y.
The launch of the podcast follows the recently opened Diocesan Communications Center. The center is equipped with video and audio production equipment including an audio recording/editing studio where the podcast was recorded. Many thanks to Bishop Lawrence Nicasio for making this all happened. His support was huge in harnessing SIGNIS assistance, funding from Aid to the Church in Need, contributions from our parishes, schools and business community, and funds from the diocese.
As we continue to use communications technology to make more visible the work of our diocese, we take this opportunity to appeal to you. We couldn’t have done this on our own and we will rely on you as we strive to improve. We graciously thank all who have contributed in any way possible and appeal to all to visit our websites, listen to our podcasts, contribute as guests and give us your meaningful feedback. Thank you very much for keeping us in your daily prayers.
